Although there are no modern figures on the population of Mon State, it is estimated that the population was around 2,672,000 in 2002. The majority are Mon. However, there is a large number of ethnic Bamar, as well as members of the Kayin and Pa-O ethnic groups and a small, dwindling Anglo-Burmese community. Many are isolated and many do not understand or speak Burmese. There is a Thai Community in Kyaikkami. The majority of people are Buddhist.
Zin-Kyaik Waterfall is located near the main road and rail line of Yangon-Dawei, near by Zin-Kyaik Village.It is panoramic and apleasant place as a picnic sport.
The capital of Mon-state, the fourth biggest city of Myanmar is Mawlamyine. It situated at the gulf of Mottama, 45 km from the sea. Sightseeing’s in Mawlamyine are Kyaikthanlan pagoda, Uzena Pagoda, monastery of Queen Seindone.
